Active participation in the neighborhood is key to having a safe, fun and healthy place to live within our community! What better way to ward off crime, fight blight, and help our business corridor than to get involved - and make a lot of friends as well! Please consider joining the Delachaise Neighborhood Association, “DNA”. Here is a list of some of our past year participation activities and civic accomplishments:

Social:
1. Night Out Against Crime potluck with live band at soon-to-be-opened BUILT gym on Baronne Street.
2. Successful Fundraiser Flea Market helped raise funds for the DNA patrol and treasury
3. Annual Christmas Party
4. Several Barbecues and Pool Parties at a member's home on Carondelet Street.
5. Monthly meetings at the Columns Hotel or Duke Morgan Spa.

Civic Accomplishments:

1. Assisted Cedric Martin/Martin Wine Cellar in its proposal to the city to tear down and rebuild an "even better" Martin Wine Cellar store.
2. Active participation with the city's blight buster programs by identifying blighted property to the city.
3. Voiced strong opposition to the city, and won, regarding an alcoholic beverage license requested by a business establishment in an area where another license was not needed.
4. Petitioned and rallied against the return of a low-income high density multiplex unit with a strong history of crime and mismanagement. As a strong neighborhood association, our efforts prevailed. The city denied the zoning “spot” change.
5. Active volunteer participation to help the Atkinson-Stern Tennis Center.
